Recap: Cancer is a scary word I have said this before. In 2009 my right kidney was removed on January 17, 2014 they found a cancer mass on my left adrenal gland. What is an adrenal gland. I had the same question. I is a gland on the top of your kidney it produces hormones and helps maintain your homeostasis of your body. Your heart rate, body pressure they are replacing my adrenal gland with medication that I will be on for the rest of my life. The Good News my only Kidney is working like a champ. Your adrenal gland is in charge of your energy level.
I recently found a recipe for cold oatmeal that is said to help maintain energy and heart health. Cold mushy stuff makes my stomach feel better and calms me for want ever reason. I was told by the C-Care Doctor that I need to set up a serious routine everyday stay to it. It needs to include breakfast before treatment and make sure no lotions are on the area where the radiation treatment will hit. I tire easily, I have my work cut out for me. I must bathe daily with my long hair it makes it hard but I will not cut my hair. My Husband loves my ugly fly away hair....lol. Tomorrow it begins the first round is a practice run to make sure it is hitting the place they want. I will be going Monday thru Friday for 5 weeks then I will start Chemo in a pill form. The first time I had kidney cancer is was discovered at stage 2 and it had taken over my kidney they were hoping to only have to take the adrenal gland. This time it is in the early stages and I have a strong chance of beating this and I believe I will.
The doctors said it will not be a strong radiation or chemo and they will monitor me closely, they will listen when I say I don't think it is gone. I had the feeling for a long time. The Doctor said the type of Cancer that hit me is a slow moving Cancer which is wonderful if you have to have Cancer hope is slow right....I feel better that I have in the last 5 years, one year after the removal of my right kidney I went down to 103lbs. My Doctor gave me an Iron Infusion and some medicine to make me eat. As you can see I am not 103 lbs I gain 50lbs and have be able to maintain it. Thanks to my Husband he is good to me he makes sure I eat even if he feels to sick he still cooks for me. I am grateful for the man God put in my life. He has stood by me, taken care of me when I couldn't and with love I am truly blessed. tonights meal before the practice run tomorrow is posted below. Red Potatoes Mashed with Pepper and Coconut Oil fried chicken. Coconut Oil makes the food tastes really good. It also keeps your liver trans fats at great numbers. Well until tomorrow I will post how the practice run went and when we will start the real deal God Bless and Peace..Nana Roberta
