Chemo Starting this week....

Nana's Words of Wisdom!!

I just finished radiation on May, 28, 2014. I was a lucky one the side effects were not that bad. When I say they were not bad it is the alternative is not being treated Cancer will kill you.

I am starting on NexAvar it is a pill. Their are side effects, I am going to chemo education on Thursday and I have to have a tooth pulled prior to starting the treatment. My stomach is not as bloated any longer but I have some sensitivity to some foods. Cold stuff feels better in my stomach. I love eating fruits and veggies. They say that eating organic helps when you are dx. with Cancer their are a lot of cancer fighting foods like,

Nuts
Cauliflower
Broccoli
Spinach
Cinnamon
oats raw
yogurt (Greek)
and many more foods I will be posting these foods as I find them and recipes. No use in posting foods with out ideas. Going to Ccare and being treated there is awesome the staff and doctors are great, they make you feel like a person they help you feel better, I have the best social worker Donna and Liz they have help me with so many different things and all positive outcomes. I didn't need to stress with them in my corner. I would recommend this place for you. They accept most insurances and they work with you. I have been happy with my care there I have been a patient since 2009.
Dr. Passcuzo is the best, he is a military Doctor I believe he sees Cancer as the enemy and makes a plan to pin point and get rid of it. Thank you for his attack plan I am feeling stronger and better than I have in the last five years. God put doctors in my life to do what they needed. First I thank God then I pray for my doctors.
